On this site ETK "Joule" presents HYDRA a.s. (before 2007 - AEG Components) as European manufacturer of film capacitors located in the city of Jicin (Czech Republic). Capacitors are produced with MKP technology using metallized polypropilen film as dielectric. The company supplies capacitors for worldwide known brands like Bosch, Miele, Electrolux, Danfoss, Grundfos, Whirlpool and others. Starting of 2012 the company offers its products on Russian market of power electronics and electric components.
The story of today's Hydra company began in 1988 when AEG KuW (AEG division specialized at capacitors and windings) launched new project in Czech Republic. That was a year when AEG Components has been established and new production site set up. In some months the new manufacturer started to supply a number of AEG manufacturing plants with the first motor film capacitors.
In the following period the company raises its production capacity and concentrates all manufacuring and commercial functions at Jicin plant. By 2003 the whole production cycle has been moved to Czech company including capacitor sections winding.
In 2004 AEG Components has been acquired by an independent Czech investor and some years later the company got the name under which it is known today - "HYDRA". Now HYDRA production line comprise motor start capacitors, capacitors for fluorescent lamps and for power factor compensation and harmonics filters.
